Itinerary of Bhutan Holiday Tour

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing - The Gateway of Bhutan by Road from India. It is a thriving commercial center on the northern edge of the Indian Plains. On arrival check in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

After breakfast , proceed towards Thimpu via the wonderful mystic town Gedu, which is about 9000 ft above the sea and Chukha Dam. On the way, halt at Chojum to take photographs of confluence of two rivers of Bhutan, Thumpu Chu and Paro Chu. Reach Thimpu in the evening. On arrival check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion). Overnight stay at Thimphu.
After breakfast, day is dedicated to sightseeing of Thimphu.You will see the following tourist sites in Thimphu include:- • Kuenselphodrang • National Memorial Chorten • Folk Heritage Museum • Typical Bhutanese lunch at the Folk Heritage Restaurant would be a great experience. • Sangaygang view point • Takin Reserve Centre. • Changangkha Monastery • Tashichho Dzong (Fortress of the Glorious Religion) Dinner and Overnight Stay at Thimphu hotel.

After breakfast, you will be taken on a three hour road trip from Thimphu to Punakha / Wangdue Phodrang, which is located across the famous Dochu La Pass.
During the road trip, you will pass through the Dochula, where you will spot mani wall, chorten, prayer flags, and others. This is the country’s highest road. You can even spot the peaks of surrounding mountains, if the sky is clear. Top peaks to spot during your drive are Masagang, Tsendagang, Terigang, Kangphugang, Table Mountain, and others. This includes the Gangkhar Puensum peak, which is the highest in Bhutan.On Arrival Check Into the Hotel. After breakfast, start for full day excursion trip to Gangtey (9,840 ft.). Gangtey is the home of Black Necked Crane which migrates from the arid plains of Tibet in the north. It is a beautiful valley of Bhutan. You can also visit Gangtey Gompha. Evening return back. Overnight stay at Punakha / Wangdue. Alternatively, instead of going to Gangtey (Phobjikha), you also have an option spending the day in Punakha Valley itself. After breakfast hike Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten which is about 45 Mins easy hike to the top of the hill. It offers a breathtaking view of the Punakha Valley. Also visit Punakha Suspension Bridge and Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Nunnery. Rest of the day free for leisure. Overnight stay at Punakha / Wangdue.

After breakfast, you will leave Punakha/Wangdue and drive to Paro via Dochu La Pass, covering Paro Chuu river valley and Wang Chhu river valley. On the way, you will be visiting Simtokha Dzong, an old fortress which is now a school for Dzongkha language. Once you reach Paro, you will be checked into a hotel. Later, you will be taken on a sightseeing tour covering important destinations of Paro:- • Ta Dzong • Rinpung Dzong • Tamchog lhakhang Back to hotel. Overnight Stay in Paro.
After breakfast, head out for the local sightseeing of Paro including a visit to Paro Ta Dzong, Paro Rimpung Dzong (One of the finest examples of architecture, also known as the Paro Dzong, has a very spiritual environment), Airport Viewpoint (offers an exquisite view of the entire city), Kichu Lhakhang (Built-in 7th century, a beautiful monastery of great significance) and Dumtshe Lhakhang (Built in the early 15th century, Dumtse Lhakhang provides with an in-depth knowledge of Buddhism to its visitors). OR Have an early breakfast and drive up to the base of Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). The most famous and sacred site among all the places in Bhutan. Guru Padmasambhava is said to have come riding on a flying tigress to this place and meditated in a cave for 3 months. Post that, return to Paro to experience activities like Archery, National Dress wearing and shopping in the Paro Town. Return back to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.
