This uninhabited island is located just 2 kilometres east of Port Blair and was once the administrative headquarters of the British before they shifted their settlement to the current capital of the Union Territory. At first sight, it is tough to believe that this abandoned place was once the seat of British power and housed everything from a bazaar, a church, stores, a bakery, a water treatment plant, a tennis court, a printing press, a hospital, and vital institutions.
