The local market, decorated with umbrellas and art installations, gives tourists the opportunity to find unique jewelry and other silver items.

Dholavira

Dholavira is a very important ancient site, located about 100 kilometers from the Rann of Kutch. It is one of the key places from the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. This site, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, helps you learn about one of the world’s first cities, the Harappan Civilization, which is about 4500 years old. The best part is that you can travel to this place on a road called the ‘Road To Heaven’, which has water on both sides. Dholavira is famous for its well-planned town layout, amazing water management systems, and special architecture, including an acropolis, middle town, and lower town.

White Desert of Kutch

Just a short ten-minute drive from Tent City is the vast White Rann, a huge salt flat that goes on for as far as you can see, covering 30,000 square kilometers from Gujarat’s Kutch district to Pakistan’s Sindh region. Find a peaceful spot to watch the sun set below the horizon, as the sky fills with beautiful colors. Scattered around the area are tribal villages with traditional round mud houses called bhungas, which are the center of Kutchi craftsmanship. Here, you can find amazing embroidery, tie-dye, leatherwork, pottery, bell metal craft, and the famous Rogan painting.

Formation of the White Rann

The Rann used to be part of the Arabian Sea. Over time, changes in the earth and the sea drying up created this large salt desert. The salt left behind by the shrinking sea gives the Rann its white color.
